Lighthouse Emergency Services

Lighthouse Emergency Services (LES) is the CPR response to poverty, hunger and homelessness. Without it, they simply can’t begin the healing process required to overcome crisis situations.

Position Description:

LES is beginning a new initiative, aimed at helping people in crisis to stabilize long-term.  In addition to providing crisis intervention, LES will begin to provide classes focused on providing skills and tools to individuals to prevent future crisis.  The prevention areas will focus on skill building in food budgeting, nutrition, eviction prevention, and energy/utility savings.  When appropriate, classes for the children of attending parents will be held simultaneously.

Intern must be able to commit to 6-10 hours/week (flexible.)

Duties would include:

  • Assist in ongoing development of educational classes focused on budgeting food, nutrition, eviction prevention, and energy/utility savings.

  • Assist in tracking and measuring outcomes of classes (provide follow-up to class attendees)

  • Assist in class curriculum teaching/delivery as needed (for adults and/or children)
